Anne Mangahas, Ed.D.

Anne is an educator and writer and has served in the educational community for over a decade at the secondary and collegiate levels.  She is a former research scientist from USC’s Keck School of Medicine and holds masters degrees in Biochemistry and the Philosophy of Science, as well as a doctorate in Education. She is the STEM Director at a private school in Newport Beach having facilitated previous projects that were launched onto the Intentional Space Station. She is in pursuit of her STEM leadership certificate through NASA and Columbia University and looks forward to continuing her graduate studies in International Relations at Harvard to advocate equality and expand multicultural education for students. She is also the co-founder of a non-profit organization geared to enriching the lives of immigrant populations in California by providing volunteer internships and services to marginalized populations.

LIGAYA (n.): A Tagalog noun meaning joy, happiness, delight. Also a popular first name for women. LIGAYA Magazine (ligaya.me) is an online publication chronicling the lives and times of Filipino American women. What makes us unique is a distinct Filipino American female perspective. Founded in July 2012, LIGAYA has short, timely, and relevant, pieces about a variety of topics which affect women's lives. The site is an evolving work in progress. Ideas are welcome.
